My glasses.
I have worn contacts for years. Until recently, I was not in a position financially to purchase glasses because the glasses I did *find and like* were ridiculously expensive.
In the past year, I have had two bouts of pink eye. Don't ask me how I got pink eye because I don't know. No one I had contact with had pink eye. But pink eye means you cannot wear contacts until it clears up -- along with looking mighty gross.
So, during the second bout, I searched for coupons for a local frame shop and found a great deal - 2 pairs for $150. I had money in my HSA account and I was off! I also bought contacts at that time (enough for six months).
However, I love my glasses so much and really feel that they represent my personal style so well that I have not been in contacts for a year now.
I cannot live without my glasses.

Love the hint of a cats eye! I wear glasses as well and just bought a few pairs on-line because they were so much cheaper. It was a bit of a gamble but it turned out great and the site I used would take them back if I wasn't happy.
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling! In the last years before I finally buckled down and saved up for laser surgery, I wore my glasses almost exclusively, and only kept contacts around for "special". I just liked the way they looked and the convenience of being able to take them on and off, especially given all the reading I have to do -- my eyes dry out in contacts.
ReplyDeleteI love glasses on you! They suit you perfectly!
