Something I Cannot Live Without....

Something I cannot live without....

My French Press. Brewed coffee tastes like muddy dirt now. Gas station coffee is rancid and I would rather have a migraine from lack of caffeine than drink that junk. I am ruined.

I drink a fairly decadent cup of coffee, especially when low carbing. I throw 1/3 cup of heavy cream into a cup with two Splendas. I then add coffee to the mix until it is just the right color. It is amazing that I can drink such a rich cup of coffee and lose weight.

Yesterday, I couldn't find my French Press when I got up. Grace had put the dishes away and she must have put the press away somewhere strange because it was nowhere to be seen. I *almost* went in and woke her up at 5:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning to tell me where she hid it. But then I found it. My precious.

Yep, I cannot live without it.

ON THE TABLE: Shrimp (done up the Splendid Table way - absolutely AMAZING - the recipe for freshening up frozen shrimp is worth the price of the book alone!), broccoli and pasta for the family.

  1. I know what you mean. I have a Rancilio Miss Silvia espresso maker and make Tom a cappuccino and myself a mocha latte every morning. Freshly ground beans from Condaxis, of course. Tom says I've ruined him for getting coffee anywhere else because mine is so good. And lawdy, it is!

  3. I don't drink coffee (sacrilege I know) but I make it at work with a French Press when I'm around. No one else knows how to use it but none of them will drink drip anymore - I may have ruined them, hehe :)

  5. You know, I have had a bodum for a long time and it still makes a wonderful pot of coffee every time.

  6. I married into a Colombian family - there isn't a day that goes by without the smell of good coffee emanating from the kitchen. I think there'd be a crisis if we couldn't find the coffee pot!
